Zihua's Casa Marina  .. home of several shops including La Zapoteca .. arguably the best place in Mexico to buy Zapotec rugs .. Ino is there to demonstrate the technique .. it is a must see place ion Zihuatanejo .. and certainly the best selection of Zapotec art in Mexico .. they also have Merida hammocks and other cool stuff

Zihuatanejo is the small fishing village just south and east of Ixtapa .. besides Dorky golf  Zihuatanejo offers great seafood, fishing, basketball, Sunday cultural events in the basketball "concha" Pictured here Fishing pangas return from night fishing every morning around sunrise ..

Dorky moorage .. some suspected narcotraficantes  left their boat anchored out in the bay in September 25, 2002 when the big blow came .. the boat dragged anchor and washed ashore right in front of the Mexican Navy base ..and then rotted for almost a year before it was "salvaged" "

The Official Dorky Way to drink a beer:   1. buy plenty and refrigerate to chilling cold, 2. look at beer for unwanted foreign objects, 3 Snap open and listen for fizzy sound of life, 4. smell for funkiness of the odd bottle, 5. dress bottle in in insulated coozie,  6. drink quickly  and go for another .. This system practiced on average 40 times a day by our Esteemed Presidente' Larry

Casa Marina .. a major Dorky hangout .. Cafe Marina owned by crazy Joe Wells serves great breakfasts, terrific pizzas and daily specials  .. plus the coldest beer in  town.

Unusually large rollers in Zihuatanejo bay in 2001 ..  Great surfing for three days at Las Gatas beach out by Owen Lee's place .. 6 guys from Huntington Beach just showed up and surfed their asses off .. not realizing that this was the best close in-bay surfing in 10 years .. they said they hadn't checked surf.com for conditions .. just lucky guys I guess.

Casa Marina greats .. Adriana and Rashid .. Rashid is the owner of "Mi Cafecito" in front of El Jumil (folk art, art and masks) He makes yummy mochas, espressos and  tropical fruit smoothies ..
